    瑪格麗特上大學時，學校要求每個學生要用五年時間來學習拉丁文課程。她憑著自己頑強的毅力和拼搏精神，硬是在一年內全部學完了。令人難以置信的是，她的考試成績竟然名列前茅。瑪格麗特不單是學業上出類拔萃，在體育、音樂、演講及學校的其他活動方面都一直走在前列。學校的校長評價她說：“她無疑是建校以來最優秀的學生，她總是雄心勃勃，每件事情都做得很出色。”
    正因為如此，四十多年後，英國乃至整個歐洲政壇上才出現了一顆耀眼的明星，她就是連續四屆當選為英國保守黨領袖，並於1979年成為英國第一位女首相，雄踞政壇長達11年之久，被世界政壇譽為“鐵娘子”的瑪格麗特•柴契爾夫人。必利勁評價
